1. Agreement and eligibility
RelaySkills is a skill-exchange platform. It provides tools for discovering members, communicating, arranging learning sessions, recording activity, and using internal time credits. It is not an employment agency, school, financial institution, emergency service, identity-verification service, or substitute for professional advice.
You must be legally able to accept these terms. If you are below the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and approve your use where required. Age-based safeguards may limit messaging, profile visibility, calls, or other features. You may not create an account for another person without authority, maintain multiple accounts to evade a restriction, or use the service if we have told you not to.
2. Accounts and security
Give accurate, current information and update it when it changes. Keep your password, sign-in links, recovery methods, and connected Google account secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account until you report suspected unauthorized access. Contact RelaySkills promptly through the Contact page if credentials are exposed, a device is lost, or account activity looks wrong.
Google sign-in is an optional convenience. Google controls its own account and privacy practices; linking Google does not transfer ownership of your RelaySkills account or grant Google access to unrelated RelaySkills records. We may require an administrator checkpoint for administrator accounts.
3. Conduct, safety, and prohibited use
Use RelaySkills respectfully and lawfully. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, stalk, exploit, sexually target, or deliberately endanger another person. Do not share another person’s private information, record or redistribute a call without appropriate consent, or move a minor into an unsafe private interaction.
Do not use the service to commit fraud, spam, phishing, malware distribution, scraping, credential testing, unauthorized access, charge manipulation, credit laundering, or evasion of safety controls. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, hateful, deceptive, sexually exploitative, or malicious material. Do not misrepresent expertise, qualifications, identity, attendance, reviews, achievements, or outcomes.
Report urgent danger to local emergency services first, then use RelaySkills reporting tools. A report creates a review record; it is not an emergency response, automatic finding, or promise of a particular outcome. We may preserve, review, restrict, or disclose information when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or enforcement.
4. Sessions, messages, and member responsibility
Members choose whether to contact, meet, teach, or learn from one another. Review a member’s profile, agree on scope, timing, location, accessibility, and expectations before a session. Prefer safe public or supervised settings when appropriate, protect personal contact details, and do not rely on a profile or match score as proof of identity, ability, trustworthiness, or safety.
Calendar entries, reminders, confirmations, ratings, and streak activity are records of information submitted or actions taken on the platform. They are not independently measured proof that a session occurred. Cancel promptly, communicate changes, and do not claim completion, payment, or attendance that did not happen. Messages and attachments must follow the conduct rules and may be reviewed after a valid safety or abuse report as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Time credits, refunds, and promotional credits
Time credits are internal accounting units for supported RelaySkills exchanges. They are not money, wages, deposits, securities, a bank balance, or a promise of future cash value. Unless a feature expressly says otherwise, credits cannot be sold, purchased for cash, withdrawn, pledged, transferred outside RelaySkills, or used to pay a person who is not a supported recipient.
When both members submit the required end-of-session progress reports, a one-way exchange transfers 1 credit from the member learning to the member teaching. When both members teach and learn from one another in the same exchange, no credits are transferred. If the session has no recorded skill direction, RelaySkills may deduct a 1-credit exchange fee from the session payer. Streak milestones award one-time promotional credits of 25 at 7 days, 100 at 30, 400 at 100, and 1,000 at 365; each milestone is awarded once and larger milestones carry larger rewards.
Ledger entries are tied to the relevant account activity. A correction, refund, dispute decision, fraud finding, duplicate record, or administrative action may add an offsetting entry or adjust an available balance. We may hold, reverse, expire, or remove credits that were issued in error, obtained through abuse, or connected to a cancelled or invalid transaction. A dispute does not guarantee a refund; provide truthful details and evidence.
Launch offers, early-registration awards, gifts, and other promotional credits are promotional benefits, not cash. They may have eligibility rules, a stated expiry, limits per person or account, and may be withdrawn or corrected when abuse or an error is identified. Creating duplicate accounts or misleading information to obtain a promotion is prohibited.
6. Member content, visibility, and intellectual property
You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant RelaySkills a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, format, display, transmit, moderate, back up, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the features you choose to use. Your visibility settings control who can see supported profile and portfolio information, but no online service can guarantee that a recipient will not copy information they are allowed to view.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for everything you upload or share. Do not submit someone else’s personal information, image, recording, writing, or intellectual property without a lawful basis and permission where required. You may revoke future public display by changing settings or deleting content, but records needed for safety, disputes, security, audit, or legal compliance may remain restricted or retained.
RelaySkills branding, interface, software, text, and original visual assets belong to their respective owners. Do not copy, sell, reverse engineer, frame, mirror, or create a confusingly similar service from them except as allowed by law or written permission. Third-party services and links have their own terms and are not controlled by RelaySkills.
7. Availability, changes, and disclaimers
We work to keep RelaySkills useful and accurate, but features may change, be rate-limited, interrupted, delayed, or unavailable for maintenance, security, provider outages, network conditions, browser permissions, or reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted service, permanent storage, a particular match, a successful session, a specific learning outcome, or that every record will be error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RelaySkills is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or safety. You are responsible for decisions you make based on profiles, messages, matches, credits, schedules, calls, content, or advice found through the service. Do not use RelaySkills for emergencies, medical, legal, financial, safeguarding, or other high-stakes decisions without an appropriately qualified professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RelaySkills and its creator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, loss of data, reputation, opportunity, or expected credits, or for conduct between members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or removes rights that applicable law gives you.
8. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using RelaySkills and request account deletion through available account controls. We may warn, limit, suspend, or close an account when needed to protect members, investigate suspected abuse, enforce these terms, comply with law, address inactivity or security risk, or protect the service. We may remove content that violates these terms or creates a safety, legal, or operational risk.
Ending an account does not erase obligations or records that must be retained for security, disputes, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Provisions about credits, content licences, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and interpretation continue after access ends where necessary.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as RelaySkills, the law, or safety practices change. The updated version will show a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects member rights or responsibilities, we will provide a notice where reasonably practical. Continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the service and request account closure.
Questions, correction requests, complaints, and legal notices should be sent through Contact & support. Please include enough detail for us to identify the issue without sending passwords, administrator codes, or unnecessary sensitive information. This page is a general product notice, not legal advice; obtain independent advice about rights and obligations specific to your situation.
